I'm a PhD student in experimental AMO physics at UChicago & Harvard. I build stuff.
From 2022 to this summer (2024), I built the vacuum chamber along with MOT trap optics for a Rb-Cs dual-species atom array quantum simulator at the Bernien Lab. This is the beginning of my journey with neutral atoms.
I joined Giulia Semeghini's group at Harvard this fall building another dual-species neutral atom experiment, now combining alkali Rb atoms with alkaline-earth-like Yb! Check out the rubidium MOT optics I built! Inside this 19'' rack, the saturation absorption locking and offset locking units for Rb D2-line repump & cooling are built. Cooling light is then taper-amplified to support MOT generation, imaging and optical pumping.
